Young Engineers Lethbridge

Message from the Owners

"The best way to predict the future is to empower our community to build it together." Welcome to Young Engineers Lethbridge! My name is Gurpreet Singh, and my journey into the world of technology began with a deep curiosity about how advanced computing can solve real-world problems. Years ago, during my Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence - long before AI became a part of daily conversation - I realized that the complex concepts we research at the university level all stem from a foundational spark of curiosity. That spark needs to be lit early in life, and it needs to be accessible to everyone. Throughout my career in research, technology consulting, and applied machine learning, my guiding quest has always been about education, equity, and discovery. I chose to bring Young Engineers to Lethbridge and our surrounding communities because I believe true understanding comes from doing. By using an edutainment approach, combining hands-on building blocks, robotics, and physics experiments, we transform abstract scientific laws into intuitive, joyful experiences. This dedication to education and empowerment also drives my broader community work. As a Board Member at the AIRI Foundation, I focus my efforts on advancing AI literacy: demystifying complex systems so that people from all walks of life feel confident, informed, and empowered to navigate a tech-driven world. For me, this work extends far beyond a traditional classroom. I am passionate about bringing the joy of engineering and community connection to all generations across Southern Alberta. Locally, we are expanding our regular programs to offer unforgettable, high-energy STEM-themed birthday parties for kids, as well as specialized Golden Ages workshops designed to keep older adults engaged, sharp, and connected through tactile building and problem-solving. Outside of technology and education, I am deeply committed to local charity and social work, believing that a thriving community is built on giving back. My goal is to nurture innate curiosity, foster a lifelong love for learning, and provide a welcoming space where our youth, our seniors, and our families can create, innovate, and thrive together.
